Vislock comes from a simple passion: to reduce service strikes and make sure people go home safely. That is the key.
Our team has spent years issuing permits on some of the biggest and best projects in the UK — Terminal 5, Hinkley Point, Thames Tideway, Crossrail and HS2. Across all of them we saw the same thing: every project ran a different system and a different process, some of them genuinely complex, and it was often hard for the people on the ground to understand exactly what was going on.
So we built Vislock to streamline that process and make it simple. It is called Vislock for a reason — it locks down the permit to dig process, because one small step missed can lead to a serious incident.
“Vislock has come from the passion to reduce service strikes and make sure that people go home safely. That is the key.”
Over the last two years, Vislock has supported major UK programmes including HS2 and Fusion in issuing more than 5,000 permits, and is proving to be a step change in how the industry manages excavation safety.

Why Vislock
The benefits of Vislock
A digital permit to dig process that is safer, faster, cheaper and fully accountable — proven on the UK's most demanding projects.
Reduce service strikes
Cross-check every excavation against STATS and PAS 128 survey data before a permit is issued, so teams only break ground where it is safe.
Save time and money
No travelling to site for wet signatures and far less admin — an estimated 130,000 miles of travel and £22,000 in labour saved across HS2 & Fusion.
Go fully paperless
Replace paper permit packs with a cloud workflow accessible from any device — around 104,000 sheets of paper saved over two years.
Complete traceability
Every permit, approval and amendment is time-stamped and stored, giving a defensible audit trail aligned with HSG47 and CDM.
Faster approvals
Submit, review and approve permits online, with live dashboards showing every active and closed permit in real time.
Proven & trusted
Over 5,000 permits issued across major UK programmes including HS2 and Fusion — with a 100% zero-service-strike record on HS2 EKFB.
